Denis Montanar, Villa Vicentina – Friuli Venezia Giulia

Denis Montanar descends from a family of farmers who have worked this same land in Friuli for four generations. He has been working in this industry since 1989 when he first started renting his grandfather’s vineyards. A few years after he purchased 2 hectares of land for planting vineyards and in 1995, he expanded his property acquiring an additional 10.5 ha, which also included farm houses. The idea of a “Territorial Brand” comes from the long-time name of the area: Borc Dodon (in the Friulan dialect). In 2013, Denis decided to brand the company using his own name: Denis Montanar.

The vineyards have been grown organically since 1996. The grapes are hand picked and all wines ferment with only indigenous yeasts and are never clarified. Denis Montanar conforms to all three levels of the “Renaissance des Appellations” Charter of Quality which respect precise programs for producing natural/biodynamic wines and also part of the movement  Triple A (Agricoltori, Artigiani, Artisti) which impose strict production regulations!
